Port Tampa Bay’s own calendar lists 296 ship days between 1 October 2026 and 30 June 2027, and on no single day are there more than three ships in port. That one fact explains a lot about cruising from Tampa: it is a busy port without being a crowded one. This Tampa cruise schedule turns the port’s calendar into what a passenger actually needs. That means which ships sail from here this season and on which days, which terminal each uses, which mornings will be busy, and what changes when the winter ships leave in April.

Everything below comes from the port’s published calendar, checked on 1 October 2026, except where we say otherwise. Cruise schedules move: ships get redeployed, terminals get swapped, and hurricanes rearrange whole weeks. Treat this page as the shape of the season, and treat your own cruise documents as the final word on your sailing.

The short answer

Nine ships from six cruise lines are on Port Tampa Bay’s calendar for the 2026–27 season:

  • Four sail from Tampa year-round, through the summer of 2027: Carnival Paradise, Margaritaville at Sea Islander, Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas.
  • Four are winter-only, arriving between late October and mid-November and leaving in April: Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity Summit, Carnival Legend and Norwegian Gem.
  • One is a one-off: Regent Seven Seas Mariner calls on 11 and 21 December 2026 only.

Weekends dominate. Saturdays and Sundays account for 57% of all departures, Mondays and Thursdays for most of the rest, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are almost empty. January is the peak month, with 43 ship days. The busiest mornings have three ships in port, which happens on 44 days of the season and never more.

Celebrity Summit Celebrity Cruises 18 Oct 2026 – 18 Apr 2027 Sun 7 nights, some longer 6
Carnival Legend Carnival Cruise Line 16 Nov 2026 – 4 Apr 2027 Sun, some Sat 7 nights 3
Norwegian Gem Norwegian Cruise Line 16 Nov 2026 – 3 Apr 2027 Mixed 4 to 12 nights 6, sometimes 3
Seven Seas Mariner Regent Seven Seas Cruises 11 and 21 Dec 2026 only — One 10-night voyage 2

The port calendar does not publish lengths. We worked them out from the gaps between each ship’s calls, which is reliable for the regular rotations and less so for ships like Norwegian Gem that change pattern every few weeks. Your booking states the exact number of nights.

Ship by ship

Carnival Paradise: the workhorse

Carnival Paradise has more Tampa departures than any other ship this season, 54 between 4 October 2026 and 27 June 2027, and it carries on into summer 2027. It works out of Terminal 3, the central terminal across the street from the port’s parking garage, on a rotation of short cruises. In the fall the rotation runs Sunday to Thursday (four nights), Thursday to Monday (four nights) and Monday to Sunday (six nights), and later in the season five-night trips replace some of those. If you want a short, cheap first cruise from Tampa, this is the ship the calendar offers most often.

One gap to know about: the calendar shows no Paradise calls in Tampa between 12 February and 6 March 2027. If you were hoping for a short Carnival trip in late February, look at another week or another ship.

Margaritaville at Sea Islander: short and themed

Islander is the other year-round short-cruise ship, with 53 calls from 3 October 2026 to 28 June 2027, almost all of them four- and five-night trips, with some seven-night ones. It always uses Terminal 6, the separate terminal at 1333 McKay Street rather than the pair on Channelside Drive. Saturdays are its most common departure day, followed by Mondays and Thursdays. Margaritaville at Sea is a young line, and it sells itself as a themed, budget-priced short break rather than a big-ship resort.

Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas: the most flexible schedule

Radiance of the Seas has 46 calls this season and stays through summer 2027. Its pattern is the least regular of the year-round ships, with sailings of anything from four to eight nights, which gives it more choice of trip length than any other year-round ship. Saturdays are its most common day. It moves between Terminals 2 and 3, so check which one is on your documents.

Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas: the weekly seven-nighter

Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas at anchor in calm blue water under a clear sky, seen side-on from the water
Enchantment of the Seas sails a seven-night trip from Tampa almost every week of the year.

Enchantment of the Seas runs the simplest schedule in Tampa: a seven-night cruise, every week, from Terminal 2. It sails on Saturdays through October, then switches to Sundays from 8 November. There is one break, with no calls between 24 April and 19 May 2027, and then it resumes for the summer. If you want a full week at sea from Tampa in the summer of 2027, Enchantment is the only ship that offers one every week.

Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas: the winter short-cruise ship

Jewel of the Seas arrives on 27 October 2026 and leaves after 24 April 2027, sailing mostly four- and five-night trips from Terminals 2 and 3 on Mondays, Saturdays and Thursdays. Its season also includes at least one longer voyage: booking sites list a nine-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Puerto Plata and San Juan, which is unusual from a port best known for the Western Caribbean.

Celebrity Summit: the Sunday ship

Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Summit docked at a pier, with its navy-blue stern and stacked balconies behind a chain-link fence and a 15 mph speed-limit sign
Celebrity Summit, photographed in Bayonne, New Jersey. It sails from Tampa on Sundays from October to April.

Celebrity Summit is Tampa’s premium option this winter, with 27 calls from 18 October 2026 to 18 April 2027, almost every one on a Sunday. Most are seven-night cruises. Booking sites list a seven-night Key West and Bahamas trip (Bimini, Key West and Nassau) and a nine-night Western Caribbean voyage in 2027 to Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, Roatán, Costa Maya and Cozumel. The calendar shows two breaks in the Sunday pattern, in early January and in mid-February, which is where the longer voyages sit. It uses Terminal 6 for most of the season and Terminal 2 for its first few weeks.

Carnival Legend: winter weeks

Carnival Legend is back in Tampa for the winter, with 20 calls from 16 November 2026 to 4 April 2027, mostly on Sundays, from Terminal 3. It sails seven-night trips; booking sites list Western Caribbean itineraries such as Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios and Cozumel from 3 January 2027, along with Bahamas and Panama options. There is a two-week gap from 31 January to 13 February 2027. For a full week on Carnival in the cool months, Legend is the ship.

Norwegian Gem: the long-voyage ship

Norwegian Gem’s 20 calls, from 16 November 2026 to 3 April 2027, follow no fixed weekday because its cruise lengths vary so much. Gem mixes short trips with long voyages of ten to twelve nights. Booking sites list a ten-night Southern Caribbean itinerary from 4 January 2027 to Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Curaçao, Falmouth in Jamaica and Grand Cayman, and a twelve-night Eastern Caribbean route to St. Kitts, St. Maarten, San Juan and St. Thomas. Tampa is mostly a Western Caribbean port. If you want the islands of the southern or eastern Caribbean without flying to Miami or San Juan first, Gem is the ship to look at. It mostly uses Terminal 6.

Regent Seven Seas Mariner: a single visit

The luxury line Regent Seven Seas Cruises appears on the calendar twice, on 11 and 21 December 2026, both at Terminal 2. Ten days apart, the two calls are consistent with a single ten-night voyage. It is not a regular Tampa ship, and it is a different market from everything else on this page.

Which days are busy at the port

Of the 273 days between 1 October 2026 and 30 June 2027, 111 have no ship at all, 72 have one, 46 have two and 44 have three. The difference between a one-ship morning and a three-ship morning is most of what makes embarkation day easy or tiresome. It decides how long the drop-off line is, whether the garage fills and how busy the Channel District’s roads are.

Day of the week Ship days, Oct 2026 – Jun 2027 What it means
Saturday 89 The busiest day; most three-ship days are weekends
Sunday 81 The weekly seven-night ships cluster here
Monday 59 Short-cruise turnarounds
Thursday 47 Short-cruise turnarounds
Wednesday 8 Usually quiet
Friday 8 Usually quiet
Tuesday 4 Almost always empty

Three-ship days for the rest of 2026 fall on 24 October; 1, 7, 15, 16, 21, 22, 28 and 29 November; and 6, 13, 19, 20, 21, 27 and 28 December. In 2027 they fall on most Saturdays and Sundays from January to early April. If you have a choice of dates for the same cruise, a midweek sailing or a one-ship Thursday or Monday will be the calmer morning.

The holidays themselves are quiet. The calendar shows no ships at all on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. The weekends either side of them are full.

Sailing dates that collide with something else in Tampa

A three-ship morning is manageable on its own. The days to think harder about are the ones where the port is busy and the city is busy at the same time.

  • Sunday 1 November 2026: Celebrity Summit, Carnival Paradise and Islander are in port, the Buccaneers host the Falcons at 1pm at Raymond James Stadium, which is near the airport, and the clocks go back an hour overnight. If you are flying in that morning and driving or riding to the port, give yourself extra time on the roads around the stadium. Better still, arrive the day before.
  • Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026: Thanksgiving weekend, three ships each day, and the airport at its busiest of the fall.
  • 19–21 and 27–28 December 2026, and 2–3 January 2027: three-ship days in the holiday travel peak.
  • Saturday 30 January 2027: Gasparilla Pirate Fest day, with Radiance of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas and Islander all in port. The pirate flotilla sails up the channel to come ashore at the Tampa Convention Center, the parade takes over Bayshore Boulevard, and large parts of downtown close. It is the single most complicated embarkation day of the season. Sunday 31 January, the day after, is another three-ship day.
  • March 2027 weekends: spring break, with three ships on most Saturdays and Sundays.
Hundreds of private boats flying pirate flags packed into the channel beside the Tampa Convention Center during Gasparilla, with the downtown skyline behind
The Gasparilla flotilla off the Convention Center. On Pirate Fest day, 30 January 2027, three cruise ships are also turning around a few blocks away.

If your cruise leaves on Gasparilla day, stay in the Channel District the night before so you can reach the terminal without crossing downtown or the parade route, and check the festival’s road-closure map the week before. Our Gasparilla guide has the timings.

Month by month

Month Ship days Notes
October 2026 26 Summit arrives 18 Oct, Jewel 27 Oct; still hurricane season
November 2026 39 Legend and Gem arrive 16 Nov; the full winter fleet is in place
December 2026 39 Regent’s one-off visit; quiet on the holidays themselves
January 2027 43 The peak month, and Gasparilla on the 30th
February 2027 32 Paradise absent from 12 Feb; Legend absent to 13 Feb
March 2027 39 Spring-break weekends, three ships at a time
April 2027 32 The winter ships leave between 3 and 24 April
May 2027 24 Four ships; Enchantment away until 19 May
June 2027 22 Summer schedule; hurricane season begins 1 June

The port has already published the summer of 2027: 67 more ship days from 1 July to 9 September, all from the four year-round ships, Carnival Paradise, Radiance of the Seas, Islander and Enchantment of the Seas. Summer cruising from Tampa is real, but the choice narrows to those four, and it runs through the hottest and stormiest part of the year. Our guide to the best time to visit Tampa has the month-by-month weather.

Where these ships go

The port’s calendar lists ships and dates, not ports of call, and itineraries change sailing by sailing. What follows comes from the cruise lines’ itineraries as listed on booking sites in October 2026. It is a guide to what is on offer, not a substitute for your booking.

  • Short cruises, four to six nights (Carnival Paradise, Islander, Jewel of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas): usually the nearest Western Caribbean ports, chiefly in Mexico, with Key West on some sailings. The mix varies by sailing, so check the one you are booking.
  • Seven-night cruises (Enchantment of the Seas, Celebrity Summit, Carnival Legend): typically a longer Western Caribbean loop through Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Honduras or Belize, plus Summit’s Key West and Bahamas option.
  • Longer voyages (Norwegian Gem, some Summit and Jewel sailings, Regent): Southern and Eastern Caribbean routes that reach Aruba, Curaçao, the Virgin Islands, St. Maarten and Puerto Rico.

Geography decides most of this. Tampa sits on the Gulf coast, so the Western Caribbean is close and the eastern islands are a long way off. Every departure also starts with a couple of hours of slow sailing down Tampa Bay before the ship passes under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and reaches open water. Our guide to cruises from Tampa explains why that matters on your first evening.

Choosing a sailing from the schedule

If you have not booked yet, the calendar is a better shopping tool than any cruise line’s search page, because it shows every option from Tampa side by side. Work backward from what you want:

  • The shortest, cheapest trip. Carnival Paradise and Islander run four- and five-night cruises all year, several departures a week between them. Jewel of the Seas adds more in the winter.
  • A full week. Enchantment of the Seas sails seven nights every week of the year. In winter, Celebrity Summit and Carnival Legend add Sunday seven-nighters, so a week from Tampa in January gives you three lines to choose from.
  • Somewhere other than Mexico. Look at Norwegian Gem’s ten- and twelve-night voyages, Jewel of the Seas’ nine-night Eastern Caribbean trip, and Celebrity Summit’s Key West and Bahamas route.
  • An easy embarkation morning. Pick a sailing on a one-ship day. Mondays and Thursdays often are, and midweek sailings almost always are. Avoid Gasparilla weekend unless the festival is part of the point.
  • A summer trip. Only the four year-round ships sail from Tampa between May and September, so the choice is Paradise, Islander, Radiance or Enchantment. Book something flexible: summer is hurricane season.

Whatever you choose, read the line’s own itinerary page for your exact date before paying. Ships on this calendar change ports of call from one sailing to the next, and two cruises of the same length on the same ship can go to different places.

Why the biggest ships are never on the calendar

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge seen across open water from a white sand beach, its cable-stayed pylons rising above a long low causeway spanning the mouth of Tampa Bay
The Sunshine Skyway at the mouth of Tampa Bay. Every ship on this page passes under its main span, and anything much taller than about 180 feet cannot.

You will not find Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class ships, or most of the industry’s newest giants, on Tampa’s schedule, and you never will at the current terminals. Every departure has to pass under the main span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and the working limit is about 180 feet of air draft; an Oasis-class ship needs roughly 236 feet. The practical upshot is that every ship on this calendar is midsize, which is why three of them at once is a busy day rather than a crush. If you specifically want a megaship, Tampa is the wrong port. For almost everything else, the bridge works in your favor.

Watching the ships come and go

You do not need a ticket to enjoy the schedule. The terminals sit at the end of the Channel District, a few minutes’ walk from Sparkman Wharf and the southern end of the Riverwalk, and on a three-ship morning the ships tower over the neighborhood. The calendar tells you which days are worth the walk.

The better show is the sail-away. Ships leave in the afternoon and take a couple of hours to work down the bay, so they pass under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the late afternoon or around sunset. Fort De Soto Park, at the mouth of the bay in Pinellas County, looks straight out at the bridge and charges $6 a day for parking. On a Sunday from November to April, when Celebrity Summit, Carnival Legend and Enchantment of the Seas often all sail, you can watch several ships go out one after another. It is a long drive from downtown Tampa and crosses the bay, so make an afternoon of the beach rather than a special trip for the ships. Our guide to the beaches near Tampa covers the park.

How to read the port’s calendar yourself

The port publishes its cruise calendar on its website, under Cruise Schedules, and it is the place to check “ships in Tampa today” or any date in the season. Three things make it more useful than it first appears:

  • Each entry is a turnaround day. A home-ported ship arrives in the morning from its last cruise and leaves the same day on the next one. The calendar shows the date, not the times. Your all-aboard time is on your cruise documents.
  • The terminal is listed for each call. Radiance of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity Summit and Norwegian Gem all use more than one terminal during the season, so the terminal printed in a guide, including this one, may not be the one for your date.
  • The month view hides the names. It shows how many ships are in each day, which is enough to judge a busy morning. Click into the day, or switch to the list view, to see which ships they are.

The calendar runs about eleven months ahead. When we checked, it was published through 9 September 2027. A sailing you can book that does not appear on the calendar yet is not a reason to worry, since cruise lines sell further ahead than the port publishes. A sailing that has disappeared from the calendar is a reason to call your cruise line.

What the schedule means for your embarkation day

The three terminals are all in the Channel District, on the edge of downtown: Terminal 2 at 651 Channelside Drive, Terminal 3 at 815 Channelside Drive, and Terminal 6 at 1333 McKay Street. The port’s own garage, the Channelside Parking Garage at 810 Channelside Drive, sits across the street from Terminal 3 and is prepaid online by cruise line.

  • On a one-ship day, everything moves quickly: the drop-off line is short and the garage has room.
  • On a three-ship day, prepay your parking, arrive in the middle of your assigned check-in window rather than at its start, and expect the roads around Channelside Drive to be slow. Drop passengers and bags first, then park.
  • From the airport, the port is 9.5 miles away and Yellow Cab charges a $40 flat rate to the cruise terminals. On a busy weekend morning, allow for traffic.
  • Flying home, do not book a flight before about midday on disembarkation day, and leave more slack on a three-ship morning, when thousands of passengers leave the port at once.

Parking rates are quoted only inside the port’s prepay system, by cruise line and sailing length, and the port publishes no rate card. Our Tampa cruise port parking guide has what the port does publish, including the free parking for disabled veterans with Florida plates. If you are flying in, stay the night before: a ship does not wait for a delayed flight, and a night in Tampa is the cheapest insurance you can buy. For a Sunday sailing that night is a Saturday, so the city’s weekend is yours: our guide to things to do in Tampa this weekend has what is on. Our guide to where to stay in Tampa Bay covers the Channel District and downtown hotels within reach of the terminals.

Frequently asked questions

What cruise ships sail from Tampa in 2026–27?

Carnival Paradise, Margaritaville at Sea Islander, and Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas sail year-round. Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity Summit, Carnival Legend and Norwegian Gem join for the winter, from late October or mid-November until April. Regent’s Seven Seas Mariner makes a single visit in December 2026.

When is the Tampa cruise season?

Ships sail from Tampa all year, but the season is weighted to the cooler months. The full winter fleet of eight regular ships is in place from mid-November to early April, and January is the busiest month. From late April to the fall, four ships remain.

What cruise ships are in Tampa today?

Check the Cruise Schedules calendar on Port Tampa Bay’s website and click the date. It lists each ship in port that day and its terminal. On a typical weekend there are two or three; on a Tuesday there is usually none.

Which terminal does my ship use?

The one on your boarding documents. As a guide for this season, Carnival uses Terminal 3, Margaritaville at Sea uses Terminal 6, Enchantment of the Seas uses Terminal 2, and Radiance of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Celebrity Summit and Norwegian Gem each use more than one terminal during the season.

What is the busiest day at Port Tampa Bay?

Saturday, closely followed by Sunday. Three-ship days are concentrated on weekends from November to early April. No day this season has more than three ships.

Do any cruises leave Tampa in the summer?

Yes. Carnival Paradise, Radiance of the Seas, Islander and Enchantment of the Seas are all on the port’s calendar through the summer of 2027, with 67 ship days published for July to early September. Summer sailings run through hurricane season, so flexible bookings and travel insurance are worth considering.

Can I cruise to the Eastern or Southern Caribbean from Tampa?

This season, yes, on a handful of longer voyages. Booking sites list ten- and twelve-night Southern and Eastern Caribbean itineraries on Norwegian Gem and a nine-night Eastern Caribbean trip on Jewel of the Seas. Most Tampa departures, however, go to the Western Caribbean, which is much closer.

Why doesn’t Royal Caribbean sail its biggest ships from Tampa?

They do not fit under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which every ship must pass to leave Tampa Bay. The working clearance is about 180 feet and an Oasis-class ship needs about 236.
